UML candidates elected in Rupakot Majuwagadhi municipality

Khotang - CPN (UML) candidates have been elected in a close fought contest at Rupakot Majuwagadhi municipality of Khotang.
UML's Deep Narayan Rijal garnered 5, 343 votes out of the total of 17, 044 votes cast in 15 wards of the municipality. UML's Vanidevi Rai garnered 5, 367 votes to win the deputy mayor's election.
Rijal's closest contestant, Rajaneshwor Rai, from Nepali Congress received 4,718 votes while CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate received 4,434 votes, said Chief Election Official, Shanti Prasad Acharya.
Acharya added that the closest contestant for deputy mayor's post, Hom Kaji Acharya (Binod), from Maoist Centre garnered 4,627 votes.
