Preparation of first meeting of Bagmati Provincial Assembly for Poush 18

Makawanpur - The provincial government is preparing to convene the first meeting of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly. According to the spokesperson of the government and the Minister of Internal Affairs and Law of the Province, Krishna Prasad Sharma Khanal, preparations are being made to convene the first meeting of the second tenure of the provincial assembly on Poush 18.

After the Election Commission handed over the list of provincial assembly members to the provincial head On Poush 2, the procedural work of the provincial assembly could be started. He mentioned that the government is preparing to convene the first meeting of the state assembly after completing all the procedures according to the constitutional provisions.

He has said that, in the all-party meeting to be held on Poush 8, the government will submit the matter as a proposal and make a decision. He informed that, as the oath-taking work of the Members of Parliament(MP) has to be completed before the meeting of the Provincial Assembly, the Provincial Assembly Secretariat has also corresponded accordingly.

"The government is preparing to convene the first meeting of the state assembly on Poush 18. That matter will be submitted as a proposal to the all-party meeting on behalf of the government and will be finalized," Minister Khanal told Ratopati. "As the MPs have to take oath before the sitting of the House, correspondence has been sent to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat accordingly", added Khanal.

Such is the possible agenda of the Provincial Assembly's first meeting

The government has determined the possible agendas for the first meeting of the Provincial Assembly. Minister Khanal said that the agenda will be sent to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat and submitted to the meeting on behalf of the government.

He said that agendas submitted by the government after the regular activities of the House will be presented in that meeting. He said that in the first meeting of the Parliament, there will be an agenda of welcoming, honoring, and congratulating MPs under the regular program of the Secretariat. He said that other issues will be discussed in the meeting after the letter received at the Secretariat is submitted to the House.

He has said that some ordinances will be presented by the government in the meeting and after completing the process, they will proceed with the law-making.

In case the Parliament becomes inactive, the provincial government has issued the Local Service (Formation and Operation) Ordinance, 2079, and State Civil Service Ordinance, 2079 on Bhadra 1. Similarly, it has also issued Provincial Health Service (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2079 on Asoj 12, and Provincial Handicraft Village Establishment and Operation Ordinance, 2079, Provincial Agricultural Development Ordinance, 2079, and the Provincial Poultry Development Board on Asoj 30.
