PM Deuba consults ex-PMs on his upcoming India visit
Kathmandu - Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday held a meeting with former PMs regarding his upcoming state visit to India, at his official residence in Baluwatar.
The former PMs attending the meeting include Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Jhala Nath Khanal, Lokendra Bahadur Chand, and former Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khila Raj Regmi.
During the meeting, PM Deuba was advised on paying attention on various problems surfaced between Nepal and India as part of the visit agenda, while keeping in view the national interests and aspirations of Nepali people, said Khanal, one of the attendants.
"At present, the recent flooding in Tarai is the issue that should be focused with due priority. The disaster has caused damages, human and property, and its main causes are embankments constructed along the Nepal-India border. Consensus should be built between Nepal and India on the issue of the embankments. The meeting focused on these subjects," said Khanal.
An issue of taking initiative in providing access to Nepal's productions to Indian market in a feasible way was also discussed, he said.
