RJPN chair Mahato demands shelter for flood survivors
Rajbiraj - Rastriya Janata Party Nepal presidium chair Rajendra Mahato has demanded compensation of Rs 500 thousand each from the government to families of those who lost their lives to recent floods and landslides in different parts of the country.
Talking to media persons Saturday in Rajbiraj, leader Mahato who arrived here to visit the areas affected by the recent floods in the district, expressed his discontent over the government decision to provide Rs 200 thousands each to the bereaved family. The assistance amount announced by the government was lesser, he argued.
He stressed that the floods survivors in the Tarai Madhes should be provided food, safe shelter and medical care as they were living a wretched life.
