PM's directive for rescue and relief

Chandragadi (Jhapa) - Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba took note of the extent of damage caused by floods in the district here on Monday.

Prime Minister Deuba, who landed at the Chandragadhi airport at 4:00 pm along with Home Minister Janardan Sharma and Chief of the Army Staff Rajendra Chettri, directed the concerned authorities to concentrate themselves in the rescue and relief of the flood survivors. The Prime Minister had a stopover following an inspection of the flood-hit Morang and Sunsari districts on a helicopter.

On the occasion, Chief District Officer Rishi Ram Tiwari apprised the Prime Minister of the damages caused by floods and efforts being made for rescue and relief of those affected by it in the district.

Eleven people have died while four are still missing in floods in Jhapa district, with more than 1,900 families displaced.
