Govt urges Dr KC to hold dialogue

Kathmandu - The Ministry of Education has urged the agitating Dr Govinda KC of TU Teaching Hospital to quit the strike and hold talks.

Issuing a press statement Wednesday, the Ministry shared that discussion was going on among Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister, Health Minister, Nepal Medical Council and others regarding his demands. 

The Ministry in the statement further said: "Government talks team urges the talks team of the agitating Dr Govinda KC to hold the dialogue." 

The Ministry also expressed worry over the absence of any member from the talks team on behalf of Dr KC in the dialogue called for 4:00 pm today. 

Dr KC has been staging fast-onto-death for the past nine days, demanding the immediate introduction and passage of medical education bill and reforms in the medical education sector. It is the 11th round of strike Dr KC is holding.
