Vice President candidate Amiyakumar: Hope to be acknowledged once again

Kathmandu - In the country, there is talk of becoming the Prime Minister, President, Vice President, and Speaker of the House. It has grabbed the attention of Congress General Committee member Amiyakumar Yadav 'Amiri' as well.

Why not, after all, Amiyakumar Yadav was the vice presidential candidate from Congress in 2072. At that time Yadav from Siraha, Qajar was instructed by the party to be a candidate. This time, he himself is willing to become a candidate.

Yadav was also a member of the Constituent Assembly when he became the candidate for vice president in 2072. The Maoist Center had made Nanda Bahadur Pun the vice-presidential candidate. At that time, UML nominated Bidyadevi Bhandari and Congress nominated Kul Bahadur Gurung for the post of president.

At that time, both Kul Bahadur Gurung nor Amiyakumar Yadav did not win the election due to the alliance between the UML and the Maoist Center. Gurung got 214 votes and Yadav got 212 votes.

Yadav says, "At that time, I was made a candidate for the vice president as per the need of the party. And I am ready to be nominated by the party this time too." He adds, "Now I will not do parliamentary politics as I am 76 years old now. Now I can't become a Member of Parliament by contesting elections. I hope that the party will respect me and give me something.

In the 2072 election of the Vice President, Congress had put forth a candidate from Madhes to attract the votes of the Madhesi parties. But Yadav believes that the Madhesi parties did not vote. But this time there is a five-party coalition, a convenient majority. Therefore, he insists that if he is made a candidate from Madhes, the chances of winning are high.

Yadav is active in the party from his village. Sometimes he goes to Kathmandu for party work. Otherwise, remains active in the politics of the district by staying centered in Siraha.

Amiyakumar Yadav, who became an independent candidate in the 2048 general election, lost the election then. After that, he was elected to the National Assembly of the time in 2056 from Congress and worked as a member of the National Assembly until 2062. He was preparing to take part in the direct election in the 2064 Constituent Assembly election, but the party did not give him a ticket.

In the second Constituent Assembly election of 2070 however, he was made a proportional member of the Constituent Assembly. Even in 2074, he expressed his desire to take part in the election, but the party did not give him a ticket. In the election of 2079, the party had put names in the closed list of proportional. But when a situation arose where only 3 names of men were selected, he could not become a member of the association.

He says, "I have been a victim of factionalism in the party. If there were no factions in the party, perhaps I would have been a proportional member of parliament." The future hope is only for the president, vice president, speaker, deputy speaker, and member of the National Assembly.

Stating that his political journey is at the final stage due to his age, he said, "I am thinking of staying in active politics only for five to seven years now."
