IN PICS: Battleground Kathmandu-5

KATHMANDU, Nov 10: The elections of the provincial and federal levels are scheduled to kick off on November 20. With just 10 days left, political parties and independent candidates are busy these days holding rallies and meeting their voters convincing them to vote for them.

The CPN-UML has fielded the candidacy of Ishwar Pokharel, the senior vice chairman of the party for Kathmandu-5. Pokharel will be elected for a third time if he wins this time too.

Likewise, the Nepali Congress has fielded the candidacy of Pradip Poudel challenging Pokharel who is backed by the ruling alliance.

As many as 21 candidates have filed their nomination in this election constituency among them most are independent candidates.
