Speaker Sapkota not to file his candidacy in upcoming HoR election

KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has announced not to file his candidacy in the upcoming election of the House of Representatives (HoR).

Speaking to a press conference, Sapkota announced that he will not be filing his candidacy in order to provide opportunities to youths and newcomers.

“Earlier, my name was recommended from Sindhupalchowk-1. With the support from the ruling alliance, my victory was sure. However, I have decided not to file my candidacy and give an opportunity to youths and newcomers,” said Sapkota.

With this, the CPN (Maoist Center) is now all set to file candidacy of Madhav Sapkota, Speaker Sapkota’s nephew from Sindhupalchowk-1.
