The JSP has now joined hands with the CPN-UML for the upcoming elections of the federal and provincial level.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is likely to relieve Rajendra Shrestha, Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Mohammad Ishtiyaq Rayi, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Mrigendra Kumar Singh, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development and Pradip Yadav, Minister for Forest and Environment.

However, if it happens, the government is unlikely to appoint new ministers, with the election code of conduct already being implemented.
