Bhattarai tried to split the party so we decided to take action against him: JSP Chair Yadav

KATHMANDU, July 15: Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Upendra Yadav has maintained that the party took a decision to take action against Babu Ram Bhattari, chairman of the federal council of the party, because Bhattari tried to split the party.

Organizing a press conference at Birgunj on Friday, Yadav said that the party has decided to take action against nine leaders of the party including Bhattarai.

According to Yadav, a central committee meeting of the party that concluded on Thursday took a decision to relieve leaders including Bhattarai, Ganga Narayan Shrestha, Prashant Singh, Ramesh Yadav, Hisila Yami and Bhakta Bahadur Shah from their post in the party.

Those leaders facing actions have been accused of acting against the welfare and principles of the party and trying to form a new political party on their own.

With this decision of the party, JSP is now on the brink of split.
