UML lawmakers obstructs National Assembly meeting
KATHMANDU, June 27: Lawmakers of CPN-UML, the main opposition party, obstructed the meeting of the National Assembly on Friday.
The lawmakers obstructed the meeting protesting against the Finance Minister Janardan Sharma.
The today’s meeting was scheduled to initiate deliberation on the Budget Appropriation Bill. However, as soon as Speaker Ganesh Timilsina gave time for Finance Minister Sharma to speak, the lawmakers of UML obstructed the meeting.
Lawmaker of UML, Khim Lal Bhattarai maintained that Minister Sharma involved unofficial personnel during the Budget preparation process and the investigation must be conducted on the case.
Following the UML obstruction, Speaker Timilsina adjourned the meeting for 15 minutes.
