It is true that the Nepal Army wrote a letter to the USA but it was not for military understanding: Chief Sharma

KATHMANDU, June 17: It is true that the Nepal Army wrote a letter to the United States of America (USA) but it was not for a military understanding, said Chief of the Nepal Army, Prabu Ram Sharma.

Addressing a meeting of the Foreign Relation Committee of parliament on Friday, Chief Sharma maintained that army personnel of as many as 27 countries had come to Nepal in 2015 when Nepal was hit by a devastating earthquake and the letter was written for them. “No such issues of military understanding have been included in that letter,” Sharma claimed.

Stating that the Nepal Army will not be a part of any military alliance, Sharma said that the Nepal Army stands against it and so far no military assistance has been received from the State Partnership Program of the USA.

Sharma further stated that the 10-points agreement that is being circulated among the public is not true.
