Dhan Raj Acharya and Deepak Poudel to face off for post of Pokhara metropolis mayor

KATHMANDU, April 24: The CPN (Unified Socialist) is fielding the candidacy of Dhan Raj Acharaya once again for the post of mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City representing the ruling alliance.

Similarly, the main opposition party, CPN-UML, is fielding the candidacy of Deepak Poudel for the same post in the upcoming local level election.

The ruling Nepali Congress is yet to finalize its candidate for the post of deputy mayor of the metropolis. The CPN-UML has already decided to file the candidacy of Manju Devi Gurung for the post.

In the last local level election, Man Bahadur GC, UML leader, was elected mayor of Pokhara metropolis. He had garnered 60,118 votes while his nearest contender Ramji Kuwar, NC leader, had collected 46,416 votes.
