NC to field Srijana Singh as candidate for mayor of Kathmandu metropolis
It is to be noted that Srijana Singh is the wife of NC leader Prakashman Singh.
KATHMANDU, April 22: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to field Srijana Singh, wife of NC leader Prakash Man Singh, as its candidate for the post of mayor of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
A meeting of the office bearers and the politburo committee of the party held today at the Prime Minister’s Office Residence at Baluwatar took a decision to this effect. "The official decision will be made public by 11 AM tomorrow," said Maha Laxmi Upadaya, deputy general secretary of the party.
Earlier, the NC’s Kathmandu Metropolitan City Committee had recommended five names for the post. They were Lil Kaji Shakya, Srijana Singh, Hari Prava Khadki, Susan Baidya and Pragatiman Ranjit.
A meeting of the office bearers and the politburo committee of the party held today at the Prime Minister’s Office Residence at Baluwatar took a decision to this effect.
