Maoist Center makes nomination of at least one female candidate for post of mayor, chairperson from a district mandatory

KATHMANDU, April 12: The CPN (Maoist Center), a coalition partner of the ruling government, has decided not to limit female candidates in the post of deputy mayor or deputy chairperson of local levels in the upcoming local level elections.
Issuing a circular on Tuesday, the party has asked the authorities concerned to nominate at least one female candidate for the post of mayor or chairperson of the municipality or rural municipality. Besides, the party has also asked the authorities to nominate at least one female candidate for the post of chairperson of ward from one rural municipality or municipality in the upcoming local polls.
