PM Deuba to visit India soon after Chinese Foreign Minister Yi’s visit

Yi scheduled to visit Nepal tomorrow.

KATHMANDU, March 24: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is scheduled to visit the southern neighbor, India.

Deuba’s visit to India comes at the time when the country has ratified the Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC)-Nepal Compact and the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is scheduled to visit the country on March 25.

According to a source at the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Deuba will be visiting India by Mid-April (with Chaitra).

The Foreign Ministry and the Kathmandu-based Indian Embassy are currently collaborating and preparing for Deuba’s visit.

“It is almost certain that PM Deuba will be visiting India by Mid-April,” a source at the Indian Embassy told Ratopati. “Discussions are underway to fix the date.”

Foreign Minister Yi is visiting Nepal on the invitation of his Nepalese counterpart Narayan Khadka, on Friday.

Minister Yi is scheduled to call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
