PM Deuba urges not to be afraid to stand in favor of MCC

After receiving words that the United States of America (USA) may review its diplomatic ties with Nepal if Nepal fails to ratify the compact, the MCC has become a burning issue in the country in the recent days.

KATHMANDU, Feb 17: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has maintained that no one should be afraid to stand in the favor of the Millennium Corporate Challenge (MCC).

The PM’s remarks came at the time when the government is all set to table the $500 million American grant that requires parliament ratification in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Friday.

“Once the MCC is tabled, I will accept the results positively whether it is passed or failed,” PM Deuba said, adding that the government has already taken the decision to table the compact in parliament.

Similarly, PM Deuba also stated that the MCC is in favor of the country and he is doing his best to get it ratified through parliament.

Besides, a meeting of the ruling alliance is scheduled to be held on Thursday at 5 PM to take the final decision regarding the ratification of the MCC.
