MC to withdraw support to Deuba-led govt if Deuba refuses Dahal’s final call
KATHMANDU, Feb 16: What seems like the final effort of Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Chairman of CPN (Maosit Center), to avoid the tabling of the Millennium Corporate Challenge (MCC) in parliament, Dahal headed toward Baluwatar to meet Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba just after party’s parliamentary party meeting.
"Dahal will urge PM Deuba not to table the MCC in parliament without forging consensus among the ruling alliance," Rameshwar Ray, a lawmaker of Maoist Center told Ratopati.
If the government tables the MCC in its existing forms avoiding Dahal’s call, the Maoist Center is all set to withdraw its support to PM Deuba-led government.
The key coalition partner of the ruling Nepali Congress, Maoist Center, has already made a decision to vote against MCC if the government tabled it without national consensus during its parliamentary party meeting held earlier this morning.
Likewise, the main opposition party, CPN-UMl, that has been obstructing the House proceeding for the past five months, has maintained to continue the obstruction on Wednesday as well.
