Maoist center to vote against MCC if govt tables it without national consensus
Party to withdraw support from the government
KATHMANDU, Feb 16: At the time when the government is confident in tabling the Millennium Corporate Challenge (MCC) in parliament today, the CPN (Maoist Center), a key coalition partner of the ruling Nepali Congress has maintained that Millennium Corporate Challenge (MCC) cannot be moved ahead without national consensus.
A parliamentary party meeting of the party held earlier this morning took the decision to vote against MCC if the government tabled it without national consensus. In this case, the party will withdraw its suppport from the government.
The party has maintained time and again that the MCC cannot be ratified in its present form.
Likewise, the main opposition party, CPN-UMl, that has been obstructing the House proceeding for the past five months, has maintained to continue the obstruction on Wednesday as well.
