UML to obstruct Wednesday’s HoR meeting

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: At the time when the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to table the Millennium Corporate Challenge (MCC), the main opposition party, CPN-UML has decided to continue the House obstruction.

A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) is scheduled for 1 PM on Wednesday.

The main opposition party, UML, has been obstructing the House proceedings accusing Speaker Sapkota of not taking action against the 14 lawmakers including Madhav Kumar Nepal who later formed the CPN (Unified Socialist).

Our demands have not been addressed yet, so the party will continue the obstruction, said Sher Bahadur Tamang, lawmaker of the UML.

A parliamentary party meeting of the ruling Nepali Congress held on Tuesday took a decision to table the MCC in the next House session.
