Those willing to avoid local level polls are in ruling alliance itself: UML Chair Oli

KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Chairman of the main opposition party, CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli has maintained that the government announced the dates for the local level election only after pressure from all sides.

Inaugurating  a ‘Local level election training and orientation’ program, Chairman Oli maintained that the government was compelled to announce the dates only after pressure from the party, election commission and other authorities concerned.

“Those opposing the local level election and not willing to have it conducted are currently in the ruling alliance,” Oli maintained.

Oli also expressed his confidence that the CPN-UML will solely secure majority wins in the upcoming elections. “The current government is not so positive about holding the local level election because of the earlier results obtained by UML,” Oli added.

The government has fixed the dates for the local level election in 753 local levels across the country on May 13.
