The has not been able to appoint the office-bearers as the meeting has been postponed frequently. The first meeting after the conclusion of the General Convention unanimously selected Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) as the party's Chairperson.
Although a meeting of the central committee had been called for January 9 for finalizing the party's office-holders, this meeting was also put off as employees at the party central office and some central leaders were infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
