Maoist Center's central committee to meet on February 11 and 12
KATHMANDU, Feb 9: The central committee of the CPN (Maoist Center) is to convene at the Nepal Academy Hall at Kamaladi in Kathmandu on February 11 and 12.
The meeting is expected to finalize the central office-bearers. The party statute has the provision of 15 office-bearers including one Chairperson, one Senior Vice Chairperson, six Vice Chairpersons, one General Secretary, two Deputy General Secretaries, three Secretaries and one Treasurer.
“The meeting will start from 11 in the morning,” Party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda's secretariat said.
The meeting of the central committee had been put off for various reasons after the party's 8th National Convention held from December 26, 2021 to January 2, 2022.
The has not been able to appoint the office-bearers as the meeting has been postponed frequently. The first meeting after the conclusion of the General Convention unanimously selected Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) as the party's Chairperson.
Although a meeting of the central committee had been called for January 9 for finalizing the party's office-holders, this meeting was also put off as employees at the party central office and some central leaders were infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
