COVID-19: 5,292 new cases, 8 deaths recorded Monday

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: A total of 5,292 new cases were reported from all over the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were confirmed through 16,088 antigen and PCR tests conducted in various laboratories during the same period. Similarly, 8,191 infected ones enjoyed a full recovery in the past 24 hours, taking the recovery caseload to 862,898 to date. The recovery rate is 90.5 percent.

Likewise, eight COVID-19 patients succumbed to the infection in a day. With this, 11,743 people have died due to Coronavirus infection so far. The case fatality rate stands at 1.3 percent, the Ministry said.

Currently, there are 79,272 active cases in the country, shared by the Ministry. Meanwhile, 366,603 people were vaccinated today alone.
