All-party meeting today, to discuss local election

KATHMANDU, Jan 22: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has called an all-party meeting for 9 AM on Saturday to discuss the local level elections.

The meeting will be held at the official residence of PM Deuba in Baluwatar, Kathmandu.

The meeting follows the ruling alliance’s High-level Political Coordination Committee held on Friday.

PM Deuba also held consultations with the leaders of his party on Friday itself.

The coalition partners are preparing to consult with the legal eagles to clarify the legal ambiguities regarding local elections.

During his address to the nation on Friday, PM Deuba said that the incumbent government holds a responsibility to conduct the elections for three tiers of government within a period of a year.
