Valley reports 3,347 new corona cases, Kathmandu has 11,333 active cases

KATHMANDU, Jan 16: Three districts in the Kathmandu Valley have reported as many as 3,347 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease on Sunday alone. 

While Kathmandu district witnessed 2,545 cases, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts saw 747 and 328 new cases on Sunday. 

The new case count in the valley accounts for 67.46 percent of the total cases detected from across the country on Sunday. The health ministry confirmed that 4,961 people tested positive for the virus in the past 24 hours. 

With this, there are a total of 15,837 active cases in the Valley where Nepal’s federal capital lies. The active caseload in the country, on the other hand, stands at 25,680.
