COVID-19: 393 new infected while 263 recover

A total of 393 new cases of COVID-19 have been detected in the country in the past 24 hours.

This was revealed in 9,329 samples tested during the same period, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

With this, the number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 829,632. Likewise, 263 recovered during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries to 812,937. The recovery rate stands at 98 percent.

Meanwhile, three people succumbed to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. With this, the death toll due to flu-like infection has reached 11,601 in the country. The case fatality rate is 1.4 percent.

According to the Ministry, there are currently 5,094 active cases in the country. Of them, 4,832 are in home-based isolation and 260 in institutional isolation including 88 in ICU while 25 are with ventilator support. Another 98 are in quarantine.

Also today, 316,774 people were vaccinated against the deadly infection.

Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts have over 500 active cases of COVID-19 while Sunsari, Kaski, Banke and Kailali have over 200. There are currently no active cases of COVID-19 in Rasuwa, Manang, Mustang, Humla and Mugu districts.
