Rastriya Janamorcha to field Bishwokarma for NA polls

KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Rastriya Janamorcha is all set to field Rajesh Bishwokarma as a candidate for the vacant seat in the National Assembly (NA) from Lumbini Province.

Bishwokarma is the only candidate from the party, which is also one of the five coalition partners.

Earlier, a meeting of the ruling alliance held on Monday morning decided to allocate a seat to the party under the Dalit category.

The Election Commission (EC) is holding the elections for 19 vacant seats in the upper house of parliament on January 26.

While the Janata Samajbadi Party has been allotted two seats for the upper house, another coalition partner Rastriya Janamorcha will get a seat.

Candidates representing the ruling alliance are more likely to win the elections as they collectively hold a majority of votes in the electoral college of provincial assembly members, chairs/vice-chairs of rural municipalities and mayors/deputy mayors of municipalities/ sub metropolises/ metropolises.
