Maoist Center’s election schedule revised for third time, voting tomorrow

KATHMANDU, Jan 2: The election schedule for the selection of the new executive committee of the ruling CPN (Maoist Center) has been revised for the third time. 

The schedule was revised for a later date as discussions are underway for the unanimous election of the new committee. 

According to the new schedule, the nomination of candidates will take place between 4 PM and 6 PM on Sunday. Voting for the central committee members will be held between 8 AM and 1:25 PM on Monday. 

The party’s election commission had earlier published the schedule on Saturday requiring the nominations to be accomplished by 10:30 PM on the same day. Voting was to be held between 11 AM and 4 PM, Sunday. 

The schedule, however, was revised for the second time slating the nomination period from 2 to 3:30 PM on Sunday. Voting was scheduled to be held between 6:25 PM and 10:25 PM.
