Election of new leadership following group discussion

KATHMANDU, December 30: The eighth General Convention of CPN (Maoist Center) is currently underway in Kathmandu, the federal capital of the country.

The convention that kicked off on Sunday is now all set to elect new leadership in the party.

Earlier the incumbent Chairman of the party Pushpa Kamal Dahal presented his political report and statute. The representatives attending the convention were then divided into 25 groups for deliberation of the report and statute. 

Of these groups, 11 groups presented their views on Wednesday and the rest of the groups are scheduled to present their views today.

Once these groups are done, Chairman Dahal will answer their queries.

The close-door session of the convention is due to begin at 11 pm on Thursday in this regard.

Earlier, the convention was scheduled to conclude on Thursday but it is now likely to end on Friday.
