Maoist Center’s Gen Convention: Closed-door session underway (with photos)
KATHMANDU: Closed-door session, as a part of the ongoing Eighth General Convention of CPN (Maoist Center), is currently underway at the Nepal Academy Hall in the capital.
The closed session began at 12 PM, an hour later than the scheduled time.
A political dossier of Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and other documents including the party statute will be presented in the session.
Panel-wise deliberations are to be held in more than 20 groups over the documents tabled in the course of the session.
Meanwhile, a seven-member presidium was formed for the ongoing closed-door session. Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Ganesh Shah, Giriraj Mani Pokharel, Parashuram Tamang, Purna Kumari Subedi, Parshuram Ramtel and Rupa Maharjan have been included in the presidium to facilitate the deliberations.
As many as 1,631 delegates and observers are participating in the closed session of the ruling party. Representatives from seven provinces and three non-geographical provinces are taking part in the general convention of the party.
