CPN (Maoist Center)’s closed-door session begins

Chairman Prachanda to table political document

KATHMANDU, Dec 27: The closed-door session, as a part of the ongoing Eighth General Convention of CPN (Maoist Center), began at the Nepal Academy Hall on Monday. 

The closed session began at 12 PM, an hour later than the scheduled time. 

 Political report of Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, party statute and other documents will be presented in the session. 

Panel discussions will be held over the documents. As many as 1,631 delegates and observers are participating in the closed session of the ruling party.  Representatives from seven provinces and three non-geographical provinces are taking part in the general convention of the party. 

The convention was officially inaugurated amid a grand function held at the Nepal Academy on Sunday. The party decided to convert its pre-scheduled first national conference into the convention on Saturday only. 

A central committee meeting held on Sunday morning decided to elect a 299-member central committee including 15 office-bearers.
