Maoist Gen Convention: Inaugural session in photos

KATHMANDU: Inaugural session of the Eighth General Convention of the ruling CPN (Maoist Center) has kicked off at the Kamaladi-based Nepal Academy in Kathmandu. 

Though the party was preparing to hold the first-ever national conference, Saturday’s Standing Committee decided to convert it as the convention. A central committee meeting held on Sunday morning endorsed the SC’s proposal. 

The convention is all set to elect new leadership including 15 office bearers. 

Leaders of major political parties including Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba are present at the ceremony. 

Following the conclusion of the inauguration session, the party will hold a closed-door session starting from Monday.
