Shashank Koirala leading in vote count for Congress' central committee member

KATHMANDU, Dec 19: Dr Shashank Koirala has been leading in the vote count for the central committee member of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC). 

Koirala, according to the vote count update released by the election committee on Saturday night, secured 1,971 votes for the CC member under the open cluster. As many as 2,393 ballots were counted until Saturday night. 

The vote count for the same category resumed at 10:45 AM on Sunday.

Thirty-five of 99 candidates will be elected as the central committee member from the open category.
