Five Bangladeshis arrested in TIA
KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Police arrested five Bangladeshi nationals from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu on Tuesday in possession of 1.311 kilogrammes yellow metal akin to gold.
The Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Taihidul Tanbir, 30, Md Yunus Ali, 50-year-old Shovan Talukdar, 37-year-old Md Mirajul and 25-year-old Zahidul Islam, TIA's security office said. They were arrested during the security check while trying to smuggle the yellowish ornaments through TIA.
Police seized 216 grammes of ornament from Taihidul, 233 grammes from Unus and 100 grammes from Shovan. Similarly, police held 332 grammes carried by Zahidul, 430 grammes by Mirajul. They were trying to board Himalaya Airlines' flight to Bangladesh. The arrested ones have been sent to Customs Office at TIA for further investigation and action.
