Rival faction preparing to field Poudel for NC Prez

KATHMANDU, December 10: The rival faction is currently under discussion at Bohoratar in Kathmandu to field senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel as their candidate for the post of party's President in the 14th General Convention of the party.

Despite multiple meetings between aspirants of the party's president, Poudel, Prakash Man Singh and Shekhar Koirala, the faction failed to hammer out the consensus and select a common candidate against incumbent President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Leaders including Minendra Rijal, Mahesh Acharya, Gagan Thapa, Bal Bahadur KC. Arjun Narasingh KC are currently at Bohoratar at the residence of Poudel to field Poudel as a candidate for the post of party's president.

According to a leader close to the Poudel-faction of the party, a central committee meeting of the faction has decided to field Poudel as their candidate against PM Deuba in the convention.

However, both Singh and Koirala have remained adamant in their decision to file their candidacy for the post of the party's president so far.
