UML leader Nembang to file candidacy for post of senior Vice-Chairman

KATHMANDU, November 23: Subash Chandra Nembang, standing committee member and deputy parliamentary party leader of CPN-UML, has decided to field his candidacy for the post of senior Vice-Chairman of the party in the upcoming 10th General Convention of the party.

The main opposition party CPN-UML is scheduled to hold its 10th General Convention from November 26 to 28 in Chitwan.

“So far, I am advocating for consensus but if I have to face an election, I will give candidacy for the post of senior Vice-Chairman of the party,” Nembang told Ratopati. 

Likewise, Bhim Rawal, Vice-Chairman of the party has already announced his candidacy for the post of Chairman. 

Chairman of the party, KP Sharma Oli, however, seems willing to go for consensus for the selection of the leader in the upcoming General Convention but the increase in number of aspirant leaders pose threat to Oli’s plan.

So far, as many as three leaders have expressed their claim to the post of senior Vice-Chairman of the party, Bishnu Pokherel, Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ and Subash Chandra Nembang.
