Amid protests and calls for resignation, CJ Rana holds bench, conducts hearing

KATHMANDU: Amid protests and class for his resignation, Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana conducted a hearing on Sunday. 

A single bench of CJ Rana heard writ petitions filed against Chitwan District Court. 

The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) urged CJ Rana not to bench any cases. 

The NBA and Rana’s fellow justices at the Supreme Court (SC) have been asking him to step down and pave the way after his name was linked with various controversies including ‘seeking a share in the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led Cabinet’.
