Nidhi designated NC's acting Prez
KATHMANDU, October 29: Vice President of ruling Nepali Congress, Bimalendra Nini has been handed over the responsibility of acting President of the party during the absence of Prime Minister and President of NC, Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Following the departure of PM Deuba for his week-long visit to the United Kingdom, Nidi has been given the responsibility to lead the party for the time being.
Nidi, who has announced his candidacy for the post of President in the upcoming 14th General Convention of the party, was handed the letter of responsibility by Krishna Prasad Poudel, the Chief Secretary of the party, after seeing off PM Deuba at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
In recent days, PM Deuba and Vice-President Nidi have often engaged in intra-party rifts and differences.
