1,677 new COVID-19 cases reported on Tuesday, taking overall caseload to 857,895

There are 30,300 active corona cases

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s overall COVID-19 casetally has reached 857,895 including 1,977 new cases on Tuesday. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 15,034 tests (11,111 RT-PCR and 3,923 antigen) across the country. Of them, 1,423 PCR and 254 antigen samples turned out to be positive. 

Meanwhile, Nepal’s COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 94.7 percent. This accounts for 731,000 recoveries including 2,072 on Tuesday. 

As many as 10,879 people, however, succumbed to the disease including 21 on Tuesday. Nepal had reported the first death linked with corona infection on May 16, 2020. 

Meanwhile, there are at least 30,303 active cases of the disease including those 154 patients who are undergoing treatment in ventilators and 514 in ICUs.
