COVID-19 Update: 1,388 new cases, 24 fatalities on Sunday

KATHMANDU: A total of 1,388 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country in the past 24 hours as of Sunday afternoon,  according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

The new cases were detected through 10,297 tests--- 7,259 PCR tests and 3,038 antigen tests--- conducted in the laboratories across the country during the same period, the MoHP unveiled in its routine press release on Sunday afternoon.. 

Currently, there are a total of 35,796 active cases in the country. Among them, 625 were being treated in ICU, 167 in ventilators, 32,744 are staying isolated at home, 3,052 in institutional isolation centers, and 343 in quarantine facilities, said the Ministry.

Similarly, 2,260 people have enjoyed full recovery in a day. With this, the number recovered from the flu-like infection stands at 712,712 in total. 

Twenty-four people succumbed to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the COVID-19 fatality caseload to 10,714 as of now. 

Meanwhile, 5,063,522 people have received the first dose of the anti-COVID vaccine and 4,052,765 were fully vaccinated till date.
