COVID-19 Updates: 2,222 patients recover, 1,857 new cases added on Saturday

KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Officials confirmed 1,857 new cases across the country in the past 24 hours as of Saturday afternoon. Those cases were detected through 13,176 tests carried out in the past day. 

Meanwhile, 2,222 more patients got over the disease taking the total number of recoveries in the country to 710,452 which accounts for 93.7 percent of the total cases. 

Twenty-seven patients, however, succumbed to the disease. With this, the total number of fatalities in the country has jumped to 10,690. The death rate due to COVID-19 infection stands at 1.5 percent.

According to the data released by the Health Ministry, as many as  4,052,765

 People have been fully vaccinated as of Saturday afternoon while 5,063,522 are yet to receive the second dose of the vaccine against the fatal disease.
