CJ Rana to hear writ petition filed against Kulman Ghising’s appointment as NEA managing director

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: The Supreme Court is hearing the writ petition filed against the re-appointment of Kulman Ghising as the managing director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). 

A single bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana is scheduled to hear the petition on Tuesday. 

Outgoing Managing Director Hitendra Dev Shakya moved the apex court on August 16 demanding his reinstatement . 

The government had appointed Kulman Ghising as the authority’s managing director for the second term on August 11. Shakya was transferred to the Energy Commission.
