UML sacks 14 lawmakers including Madhav Nepal

KATHMANDU, Aug 17: The main opposition party CPN-UML has sacked 14 lawmakers belonging to the party following the Sher Bahadur Deuba led government’s decision to introduce an ordinance amending provisions to split a political party. 

The UML registered a letter at the Federal Parliament Secretariat seeking dismissal of their membership of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Tuesday. 

Those relieved from their positions include Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Mukunda Neupane, Ram Kumari Jhakri, Kalyani Kumari Khadka, Laxmi Chaudhary, Nira Devi Jairu, Pushpa Kumari Karna, Sarala Kumari Yadav, Kalila Khatun, Birodh Khatiwada, Krishna Lal Maharjan, Bhawani Khapung and Metmani Chaudhary.
