COVID-19: Nepal reports 2,624 new cases, 20 deaths

KATHMANDU, Aug 14: As many as 2,624 new cases were detected throughout the country on Saturday. 

According to the Health Ministry, those cases were detected through 13,573 tests carried out in the past 24 hours as of Saturday afternoon., 

With this, the total number of infections in the country has so far reached 730,479 through RT-PCR testing method while 74,711 through the antigen tests. 

Ministry’s data revealed that at least 39,405 patients are yet to recover from the disease, 760 of them are being treated at the ICUs. 

Meanwhile, Nepal’s COVID-19 recovery tally has jumped to 680,815 with 1,320 patients getting over the disease on Saturday. 

Similarly, 20 more patients died of COVID-19 on Saturday taking the fatality tally to 10,259.
