Lumbini CM forms seven-member Cabinet

BUTWAL, Aug 12: Hours after his appointment as the chief minister of Lumbini Province on Thursday, Kul Prasad KC has formed a seven-member Cabinet. 

KC, who was appointed the chief minister of Lumbini as per Article 168 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal on Thursday, inducted one minister from the CPN (Maoist Center) and Nepali Congress (NC) each while three others were picked from the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP). Similarly, an independent member of the Lumbini Province Assembly was also included in the KC-led Cabinet. 

Newly appointed ministers include NC’s Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary (Urban and Rural Development), Maoist Center’s Krishna Dhwoj Khakda (Economic Affairs), JSP’s Suman Sharma Rayamajhi (without portfolio), Kurmati Dhenga (without portfolio) and Sahasram Yadav (Physical Infrastructure Development). Similarly, Ajaya Shahi was also appointed as a minister without portfolio.  

All the ministers including CM KC were administered oaths of office and secrecy later on Thursday evening.
