COVID-19: Nepal reports sudden spike, 4,107 new cases detected on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, Aug 4: Nepal reported a massive spike in daily number of new coronavirus cases on Wednesday. 

A total of 4,107 people tested positive for COVID-19 which accounts for 26.2 positivity rate of the 16,298 tests carried out in various laboratories across the country.Of them, 2,975 people were found infected in RT-PCR test and 4,107 in the antigen test.

Similarly, 1,535 people got over the disease while 35others died on Wednesday. 

In Kathmandu Valley 1,279 infections were reported. Of them, 206 people were confirmed infected in Bhaktapur, 165 in Lalitpur and 908 in Kathmandu.
