JSP Chair Thakur files writ petition

KATHMANDU, July 24: Chairperson of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal, Mahanth Thakur, filed a writ petition at Supreme Court on Friday, demanding an order against the decision of the Election Commission (EC) regarding the division and authenticity of the party.

On Thursday, the poll body had decided to summon the members of the executive committee for July 26. The EC summoned the executive committee members bearing the original identity cards.

Chairman Thakur demanded the SC order not to implement the decision of party split and authenticity after the faction led by another chairman of party, Upendra Yadav, garnered majority in the committee.
