UML’s Standing Committee meeting today, Nepal faction to boycott

KATHMANDU, July 18: The CPN-UML is holding a Standing Committee meeting at 11 AM Sunday. 

According to Secretary at UML head office, Sher Bahadur Tamang, the meeting will take place at the Chyasal-based Tulsilal Memorial Academy. 

Tamang said that Sunday’s meeting will finalize the agenda to be discussed at a Central Committee meeting scheduled for Monday. 

Members of the recently dissolved task force, which was formed to resolve party disputes, visited party Chairman KP Sharma Oli to request him to postpone Sunday's meeting.  Oli, however, said that the meeting could not be put off. 

Dissident faction of the party, led by senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, said that it will not join the meeting. 

Raghuji Pant,  leader of the faction, said that they will boycott any meeting which is summoned without a consensus.
